Free Time Blindness Calculator: Plan When to Get Ready

Calculate when to stop your current activity, start getting ready and leave for an appointment. Enter the date, arrival time and four estimates below. This free time blindness calculator works backward and shows the calendar date for every step.

What time should I start getting ready?

Work backward from your appointment. Include the small steps between finishing one thing and leaving for the next.

All times use the local calendar date and clock time you enter. Minutes are whole numbers, from 0 to 1,440 per field.

Preparation includes washing, dressing and packing. Transition is time to stop your current activity and switch to preparation. Count each step once.

This is a planning estimate. It has no live traffic, alarms or calendar connection. Set reminders separately. For travel across time zones or daylight-saving clock changes, check actual journey times and local clocks. This calculator is not an ADHD assessment or treatment.

How the calculation works

First step = arrival time – early arrival buffer – travel – getting ready – transition. Transition comes before getting ready. Include parking and walking in travel, and count each step once.

Try the 9 AM example: 30 minutes getting ready + 10 minutes transition + 25 minutes travel + 15 minutes buffer = 80 minutes. Stop at 7:40 AM, start getting ready at 7:50 AM, leave at 8:20 AM and aim to arrive at 8:45 AM.

Make the estimates your own

Time a familiar routine from start to finish, including interruptions. Use that observation to revise the next plan. Enter zero for stages that do not apply, such as travel for a call at home. Blank, negative and fractional minutes are rejected. Each field supports up to 1,440 minutes.

Use and limitations

The timeline is a local clock estimate, with no live traffic, time-zone conversion or daylight-saving adjustment. Verify journeys across changing clocks separately. Download the text timeline or select its text to copy it, then set reminders in your own calendar or alarm app. This page does not send alarms.

The calculator does not ask for your name, location or appointment details. It does not save its inputs between visits. See the site privacy policy for wider website practices. This is a planning aid, not an ADHD diagnosis, treatment or guarantee of punctuality.
