Interpreting Scores

Scoring Methodology

The tool uses the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level Formula:

Score = 0.39 × (Total Words / Total Sentences) + 11.8 × (Total Syllables / Total Words) − 15.59  
  • Words per sentence: Measures sentence complexity.
  • Syllables per word: Assesses vocabulary difficulty.
  • Syllable counting: Uses a linguistic algorithm (approximated for efficiency).
